The annual Sturgis Harley Davidson rally will be held on the 9th- 15th August in South Dakota. The renowned event, attracting over 600,000 people in last year's event, is one of the main attractions and highlights that the small south Dakota town has to offer.

Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame, the Sturgis Harley Davidson rally will drag many Harley Davidson fans to Dakota for the 70th anniversary of the event. The event will go beyond last year's, with many anticipating the line up of Harley Davidson motorcycles that will be on display.

The celebration will begin with exclusive performances by many world known artists including Kid Rock, Eddie Money, Ozzy Osbourne and the Doobie Brothers. Everyone from the town joins in, from the church groups to schools. There will be various food vendors, merchandise, portable bathrooms and marked camping grounds for parking.

Recently in July, a number of Harley Davidson volunteer bikers drove appropriately 4500 miles to escort the Special Olympic athletes at the National Games. With 42,000 athletes to be transported, the volunteers did an amazing job escorting the athletes to and from the venue safely.

This was the first time Harley Davidson bikers were asked to escort the National Games athletes by motorcycles. It has been a huge success and a great collaboration between both Harley Davidson bikers and the National Games. It was a day to remember for those who never had a chance to ride a Harley Davidson motorcycle and even for the bikers to learn more about the National Games.

The new collaboration between the two parties will certainly grow stronger for many National Games to come.

The expansion of the Harley Davidson market in India has convinced the company to build a plant in India to produce motorcycles for the high demand. The demand for Harley Davidson motorcycles grew within the three weeks the company opened three dealerships in India. This will be the second plant opened overseas other than the U.S plants to establish greater networks and connections to the foreign market. The first plant overseas was built 10 years ago in Brazil, which has made great results for the company.

By opening up a plant in India, the company believes that the Harley Davidson motorcycles will have a bigger chance of gaining local interest in India. The consumption of motorcycles in places like India are very common, making the decision to expand understandable.

Harley Davidson Motorcycles have recently announced the discontinuation of the sidecars due to low demand for production. For the 1 million Harley Davidson fans on Facebook, this means that no more orders in the future will be accepted for the Sidecar model. There may have been a decline of interest in potential buyers, however the Sidecar was for many, the original and classic Harley Davidson model.

The decision made effective immediately after the introduction of the Tri-Glide family of trikes, was a hard decision for the company to make.

For those who were lucky enough to own a Harley Davidson Sidecar, the company will still be providing dealer support for warranties, service parts and technical support. The Sidecars were the first available in 1914 and will now remain as part of the Harley Davidson history.
